ECNPLC: Team-Based Primary Care Funding Announcement
The Ontario Ministry of Health announced on February 1st, 2024, that the Ontario government is investing $110 million to connect up to 328,000 people to primary care teams. This investment is a step closer towards closing the gap for 1.3 million people not connected to primary care. Visit here for full announcement.
Interprofessional primary care teams connect people to health professionals (physicians, nurse practitioners, registered and practical nurses, physiotherapists, social workers etc.) that work together to provide timely access to primary care leading to faster diagnosis, treatment and improved health outcomes.
Anthony Leardi, MPP for Essex, announced that the Essex County Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinic (ECNPLC) will be receiving $424,525 to expand its team-based primary care services. The ECNPLC has partnered with the Town of Kingsville and TMC Urgent Care Clinic to provide primary care services to the residents of Kingsville. Essex County Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinic- Innovation Kickstart Award Recipient
Executive Director Laura Levesque, is pleased to announce the ECNPLC was a recipient of one of Health Excellence Canada’s Innovation Description Awards. The ECNPLC registered to take part in the Health Workforce Innovation Challenge and submitted a video highlighting their initiatives for workplace wellness. The ECNPLC has made a commitment to ongoing efforts to promote staff wellness in the workplace.

ECNPLC: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Education Group
The Essex County Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinic is offering a CBT education group series for adults 26 years and up. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) can help someone overcome challenges by helping change the way they think and behave.
