Accelerating Ontario Health Teams: Minister’s Update
The Honorable Sylvia Jones, Deputy Premier and Minister of Health and other representatives provided an update on the next steps to accelerate Ontario Health Teams (OHTs).
In November 2023, the Ministry of Health & Ontario Health plan to release guidance, resources and support for OHTs on The Path Forward, including OHT not-for-profit incorportation.
Starting April 2024, each OHT will receive up to $2.2 million over three years ($750K/year).
The Ministry is developing an ‘OHT Maturity Framework’ that will support OHT advancement to a mature state.
Twelve Ontario Health Teams will be supported to advance to maturity and provide guidance and support for the next phase of implementation for all Ontario Health Teams. These teams are:
- All National Health Partners OHT
- Burlington OHT
- Couchiching OHT
- Durham OHT
- East Toronto Health Partners OHT
- Frontenac, Lennox and Addington OHT
- Greater Hamilton Health Network OHT
- Middlesex London OHT
- Mississauga OHT
- Nipissing Wellness OHT
- Noojmawing Sookatagaing OHT
- North York Toronto Health Partners OHT
