Family Doctors and Nurse Practitioners Accepting New Patients


You can find a list of Family Doctors accepting patients in Windsor-Essex through the Essex County Medical Society. They provide a current list of Family Doctors in Windsor-Essex that are accepting new patients.


Find a Family Doctor or Nurse Practitioner through Health Care Connect. Register yourself and/or your whole family for Health Care Connect and a care connector will search for a Doctor or Nurse Practitioner who is accepting new patients in our community.

   

Mobile Medical Support (MMS) and Other Resources for Those Without A Family Doctor

Mobile Medical Supports (MMS) provides Primary Care Check-ups and other services for those in need of care. MMS can also help you get connected to a Family Doctor or Nurse Practitioner for ongoing primary care.

There is no cost for the Mobile Medical Support services and you don’t need an OHIP card or even ID. No Appointment required!

These services are available to the general public, migrant workers, uninsured persons, refugees, asylum seekers, newcomers, seniors… everyone in the community!


Virtual Urgent Care

London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) and St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton (SJHH) are pleased to offer virtual urgent care to residents of Ontario. All you need is an Ontario Health Card, email address, and access to a device connected to the internet. 

Adult and paediatric appointments are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. You can book an appointment by visiting UrgentCareOntario.ca or by calling

Virtual urgent care might be appropriate for you (or a family member) if you have a medical issue that is NOT life-threatening but requires urgent medical attention and you’re unable to access timely care through a primary care provider. 

In the event of a life-threatening emergency, please call 9-1-1 or go to your local emergency department.

Urgent Care Centres offer same-day urgent care for non-life-threatening conditions such as infections, sprains, earaches, fractures, and fevers. Many are equipped with diagnostic tools and on-site laboratory services to support timely assessment and treatment
